  • Fatal Accident in Douglas County

    LAWRENCE, Kan. – A 66-year-old Lawrence man is dead after an accident on his all-terrain vehicle while he was spraying weeds. The Lawrence Journal-World reports Douglas County deputies and family members found Allen Fender dead at 3:15 pm Saturday. Fender was spraying fields on his four-wheeler equipped with a spray apparatus when he was involved in an accident. Sheriffs spokesman Sgt. Steve Lewis says the vehicle crashed and overturned, killing Fender.
