Born on June 30, 1927 in East Orange, he was raised in upper Vailsburg section of Newark, then moving to East Orange where he graduated Clifford Scott High School in 1945, he was known as the Flying Wedge, due to his sports activity.     Animal Friends of the Valleys has set an April 20 fundraising golf tournament. The event, called FORE … the Animals will be at The Golf Club at Rancho California in Murrieta.
