Sales of BMW sports activity vehicles built in S.C. rev up 24%
BMW Group USA reports a nearly 24 percent increase in sales of light trucks manufactured at the company’s plant in Greer, SC, during May, compared with the total of a year earlier, according to the Charleston Regional Business Journal. BMW refers to the models as sports activity vehicles. The company sold 6,939 of the X3, X5 and X6 models manufactured at the Spartanburg County, SC, plant last month, up from 5,604 in May 2011.
