A PROJECT linking people with disabilities and long-term health issues with volunteer buddies to help them get fit has been launched at the Sobell leisure centre in Holloway.
The free Yoodo Sports project is offering drop-in gym sessions for disabled people every Monday and Wednesday between 1pm and 2pm for the next five weeks.
An activity buddy will help gym-goers to use the equipment and give them confidence to get into a regular sporting routine.
The project is run in conjunction with Leonard Cheshire Disability project, the Sobell and Aquaterra Leisure.
Craig McIntyre, Aquaterras head of health development, said: As a Yoodo Sports Activity Hub, Sobell leisure centre makes it easier for people in the borough to access inclusive fitness, meet new people and get active with others.
